Sometimes during these days of hot, energy-sucking weather, we sometimes forget that there are any other times than the hot afternoon, hot evening, and hot nights when it’s tough to get any real sleep.
But God reminds us that the day contains beautiful moments, and all we have to do is look for them.
My Golden Retriever is a crack-of-dawn riser, and this morning, it was worth it. After (reluctantly) rolling out and getting dressed, I had the “push” to grab at least the cellphone for its camera as I was led to the door by an anxious yellow dog.
The lane was full of fog – no, wait – as we walked, I realized it was low clouds…
And the light had this curious golden quality…
We came out of the trees, and there it was.
The new day was arriving with a song of praise to God, and all things were turning to watch…
From Habakkuk 3:2-4 (NIV)
2 Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.
3 God came from Teman,
the Holy One from Mount Paran.[a]
His glory covered the heavens
and his praise filled the earth.
4 His splendor was like the sunrise;
rays flashed from his hand,
where his power was hidden.
